Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
This policy explains what data ScrapTally handles and how.
What we collect
Nothing you type into calculators leaves your browser. Your local yard prices, weights, and unit preference (lb/kg) are saved in your browser’s local storage (keys prefixed scraptally:) so they’re there on your next visit. We cannot see them. Clearing your browser storage removes them.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages and calculators are used — page views, referrers, approximate (city/country-level) location, device and browser type, and how people move through the site. Google sets cookies to do this and processes the data on our behalf; IP addresses are handled by Google in accordance with its own policies. We use these reports only in aggregate to improve the site — we don’t sell your data or use it to identify you personally. You can read how Google uses data and opt out site-wide with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookies
The site itself doesn’t need cookies to function — your calculator inputs live in local storage, not cookies. However, Google Analytics sets cookies (typically _ga and related) to measure usage, and any advertising or embedded media we add may set their own. Where the law requires it (for example under the EU/UK GDPR), you’ll be asked to consent before non-essential cookies like these are set.
Advertising
If display ads are shown, ad partners may process data and set cookies as described in their own policies. We will list active ad partners here when advertising is enabled.

Affiliate links
Clicking an affiliate link takes you to a merchant (e.g., Amazon) which may set cookies to attribute the referral. See the Affiliate Disclosure.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA, and similar), you may have rights to access or delete personal data. Since we hold essentially none, most requests are satisfied by clearing your browser storage — but you can always contact us.
Changes
We’ll update this page as the site’s tooling changes; the date above reflects the latest revision.
